Saint Joseph's Fairbanks Named Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Averaging 20.5 points per game en route to helping the Saint Joseph's women's basketball team to a 2-0 record on the week, sophomore forward Sarah Fairbanks has been named Big 5 Player of the Week, organization officials announced on Monday.

In Wednesday's 70-52 win over Drexel, the starting post player tallied a career-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting and 3-of-3 from the foul line. Fairbanks followed with a team-best 20 points on Saturday, adding five rebounds and a pair of steals in the Hawks’ 77-65 win over Liberty. For the week, Fairbanks shot 62.5 percent from the floor and converted 11-of-14 from the foul line, while adding 5.5 rebounds per game.

The Hawks (4-1) return to action this Tuesday at Princeton at 5:30 p.m.
