NEWPORT, R.I. - The Saint Joseph's golf team shot a 323 in Tuesday's final round of the 20th Annual Adams Cup of Newport to finish 11th overall in the 16-team field. As a team, the Hawks posted a three-round score of 309-306-323/938, while sophomore T.J. McNulty led SJU individually, finishing tied for 22nd.
Played at Newport National Golf Club (par 72, 7,244 yards), McNulty fired a three-round score of 75-75-77/227 to lead the Hawks for the second-straight week. Tyler Kingsley tied for 44th with a score of 77-75-83/235, while T.J. Summers tied for 53rd at 77-80-81/238. Brian Turley tied for 65th with a three-round total of 82-76-83/241, and Connor Hill rounded out the five-man team at 80-82-82/244 to tie for 71st.
Central Florida claimed the team title with a three-round score of 856, while Bethune-Cookman's Ryan Fricker won medalist honors with a score of 205.
Saint Joseph's returns to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
