Saint Joseph's Women's Tennis Falls To Xavier, 5-1

MERION STATION, Pa. - Saint Joseph's freshman Aurora Davis picked up a win at No. 3 singles Friday as the Hawks' women's tennis team faced Atlantic 10 foe Xavier Friday at the SJU Tennis Complex. The Musketeers pulled away for the 5-1 win as the doubles portion of the match were not played.

Davis got the Hawks' point at the third singles flight against Kally Alkire. Davis took the first set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (4). In the second set, Davis opened a 3-2 edge before Alkire retired, giving the Hawks a point.

At the top flight, SJU junior Casey Robinson battled to three sets, but fell 6-3, 1-6, 5-7 to Xavier's Daniella Patton.

The Hawks return to action this Sunday when they host Lehigh.
