La Salle Volleyball Drops 3-0 Match To Rhode Island

KINGSTON, R.I. – Senior Alex Kennedy led the Explorers with a season- high nine kills as the squad fell 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-12) to Rhode Island on Friday evening at Keaney Gymnasium.

 

Junior Breanna Mazalewski posted nine digs, while Kourtney Clark added 19 assists.

 

The Explorers fell behind 10-4 in the first set after a 6-0 run by the Rams.  La Salle got within five four times, but could not gain any more ground, falling 25-18 in the set.

 

The Rams jumped out to early leads in the second and third sets as well, winning 25-15 and 25-12.

 

With the win, Rhode Island evens the season series at 1-1.

 

La Salle will play the remainder of its four matches at Tom Gola Arena, beginning with a Sunday afternoon contest against Xavier. It is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
