NEWPORT, R.I. - Creighton's Ethan Wragge hit five of his game-high six three-pointers in the second half as the Bluejays pulled away for a 82-75 victory over Saint Joseph's Saturday evening at the Qwest Center. Carl Jones led the way for the Hawks with a team-high 17 points.
The Saint Joseph's golf team shot 312 in Tuesday's final round of the Adams Cup of Newport. As a team, the Hawks shot 310-308-312/930 to finish 17th in the 19-team field.
Individually, senior Jimmy Bea finished with a three-round score of 73-77-76/226 to tie for 49th and lead all Saint Joseph's golfer. Freshman Connor Garrity tied for 67th at 73-81-78/232, while sophomore Kyle Jeziorski tied for 79th at 84-76-77/237. Senior Andrew Jaskel finished 87th with a score of 80-74-86/240, while freshman Tim Godshalk rounded out the five-man squad with a tie for 94th at 87-82-81/250.
Central Florida won the team title with a three-round total of 842, while the Knights' Ricardo Gouveia earned medalist honors at 204.
The Hawks return to action October 2-3 at the Xavier Invitational.
