Saint Joseph's Men's Track Competes at Bison Outdoor Classic

The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday and Saturday at Bucknell University. Jared Sabre highlighted the Hawks' performance with a third-place showing in the 400 meter dash.

Sabre finished the 400m in 49.11 while David Smith followed in 49.91 to place sixth and George Arcarola completed the race in a season-best 50.45 to take seventh.

The 4x100 squad of Michael Yap, Tyler Dougherty, Tom DiNatale and Smith placed fourth overall and second in their heat with a time of 43.87 seconds.

In the 1,500 meter run, Luke Fischer ran a season-best 3:53.22 to take 12th while Aaron Leskow finished third in his heat (3:55.11) and freshman Mike Rankin placed first in his section, also with a season best (3:58.78).

Jon Mazzio had a personal record (14:38.27) in the 5,000 meter to place 14th overall, while Dan Roark recorded a time of 14:51.64.

Murphy O'Donnell competed in the 3,000 steeplechase, placing 26th in 9:42.90, while Andrew Townsend earned a second-place finish in his section of the 800 meter with a time of 1:58.43.

The Hawks return to action when they compete in the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton on Friday and Saturday.
