Drexel Women's Crew Takes Second in Petite Finals at Knecht Cup

Camden, N.J. - Drexel women's crew sent four boats to the petite finals in the second day of racing on the Cooper River in the 2011 Knecht Cup Regatta. The women's varsity pair, second varsity eight, and the varsity eight posted runner up finishes while the varsity four took fourth place.

Camden, N.J. - Drexel women's crew sent four boats to the petite finals in the second day of racing on the Cooper River in the 2011 Knecht Cup Regatta. The women's varsity pair, second varsity eight, and the varsity eight posted runner up finishes while the varsity four took fourth place.

The women's novice eight in the the Anna Marie boat crossed the line in 7:28.00 just a few seconds shy behind first-place Duke. The Dragons placed ahead of Connecticut, Delaware and Buffalo in the petite final. The second varsity eight in the Marlene Buckley boat finished behind Rutgers with a time of 7:14.66. The women's varsity eight also finished second for Drexel with a time of 6:58.14 in the petite final.

Drexel crew will compete in the 2011 Kerr Cup held on Saturday, April 16 on the Schuylkill River.
