Keogh & Littlepage Post First Place Finishes As Temple Men's Track & Field Competes At Philadelphia Big 5 Meet

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's track & field team officially opened the outdoor season as a unit as the Owls competed in the Philadelphia Big 5 Meet, hosted at Penn's Franklin Field on Saturday. Senior Bob Keogh took home first place in the hammer throw, while junior Brian Littlepage won the discus.

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's track & field team officially opened the outdoor season as a unit as the Owls competed in the Philadelphia Big 5 Meet, hosted at Penn's Franklin Field on Saturday.  Senior Bob Keogh took home first place in the hammer throw, while junior Brian Littlepage won the discus.

Keogh muscled his way to IC4A marks in the hammer throw, launching a toss of 193-09 to take top honors.  For Littlepage, first place came with a near IC4A toss of 154-01. Also in the field, senior Chris Durante went 186-06 in the javelin and freshman Carlton Stafford leaped 43-01.75 in the triple jump to both place second.

Junior Travis Mahoney led Temple in the 1500m, placing second with a time of 3:53.94.  Senior Eddie Penetar took home third place in the 5000m, crossing the finish in a time of 14:53.56.

In the 110m hurdles, junior Tim Malloy nearly took home top honors with a time of 15.33, placing second.  Junior Kaseem Cheek was the Owls' top finisher in the 100m dash, burning down the track in a time of 11.28.  Freshman Alex McGee fared well in the 200m dash, turning in a time of 22.68 to place third.  The Temple 4x100m squad placed second in a time of 42.15.

Up next, the Owls travel to William & Mary for the Colonial Relays on April 1-2.
