PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's track & field team made a trip across town to compete in the Philadelphia Big 5 Meet, hosted at Penn's Franklin Field on Saturday.  Sophomore Victoria Gocht made her first appearance of the year winning the 800m, while freshman Ambrosia Iwugo took home top honors in the 200m.

Gocht, who sat out the most recent indoor season recovering from injury, posted a near ECAC qualifying time of 2:12.61 to take top honors in the 800m.  Iwugo was also close to meeting ECAC marks, placing first in the 200m with a time of 25.17.  Freshman Gennie Depass finished on her heels, turning in a second place time of 25.83.

Freshman Tessa West turned in a third place time of 1:05.60 in the 400m dash, while Iwugo also placed third in the 100m dash with a time of 12.56.

The women's 4x100m relay team fared well on the day, running a time of 48.92 to place second to Penn's squad.  In the 4x400m, the Owls' quartet ran a time of 3:55.14 to take third.

In the field, junior Alanna Owens placed third in the hammer with a toss of 145-00.  Classmate Ebony Moore posted a pair of third place finishes, going 37-06.75 in the shot put and 123-01 in the discus.

The Owls are back in action next when they travel to the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary on April 1-2.
