Saint Joseph's Aguilar Named Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Batting .455 and leading the Hawks to the Carolina Classic title, Saint Joseph's junior Monica Aguilar was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

PHILADELPHIA - Batting .455 and leading the Hawks to the Carolina Classic title, Saint Joseph's junior Monica Aguilar was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.


Leading SJU to a 3-1 mark, Aguilar led off the weekend with four RBI against N.C. State. Adding another RBI in a win over Georgetown, She added a pair of RBI and a run scored in the Hawks' 8-0 mercy-rule win over host North Carolina. Aguilar capped the weekend with a run scored in her team's victory over N.C. State.


For the weekend, Aguilar finished with three runs scored, seven RBI and went 5-of-11 at the plate for a .455 batting average.


Aguilar and the Hawks return to action at the University of South Florida Tournament this Friday.
