Boston – Kamile Nacickaite scored her 1,000th career point and led the Dragons with 15 in a 61-53 victory at Northeastern (8-19, 3-13). The Dragons held off a late rally by the Huskies and overcame 20 turnovers in the game. Jasmina Rosseel and Tyler Hale added 12 points apiece in the winning effort. The victory keeps Drexel (16-11, 8-8) locked in a tie for sixth place in the CAA with Hofstra.

The Dragons shot a blistering 53.7 percent from the floor and made 4-of-8 from deep. Hale led a 27-rebound effort by the Dragons with seven boards and her energy early in the second half helped to spur her team coming out of the locker room.

Hale's hustle led to five points and three rebounds in the opening minutes of the second half. The Dragons fed off her energy to go on a 10-2 run to open up a 17-point lead early in the second half. But midway through the period Northeastern used full-court pressure to throw Drexel out of its offensive rhythm. The Dragons committed 20 turnovers in the game with 10 coming in each half.

A trio of three-pointers by Dani Iervolino and Jamie Conroy sliced the sizeable Drexel lead down to six points with just under two and a half minutes to play.

Rosseel helped her team close out the half by taking care of the ball amidst the pressing Huskies and converting three press-break layups in the last minutes. Rosseel led the Dragons with four assists without committing a turnover.

Mia Mayberry led Northeastern with 16 points, 12 of them coming in the second half. She also contributed three offensive rebounds to the Huskies' 30-board effort. Northeastern shot 37.5 percent in the game and made 5-of-16 from three-point range led by Iervolino's 3-for-6 performance.

Drexel held a 29-20 advantage at halftime despite committing 10 turnovers. The Dragons shot 55 percent from the floor, missing just nine of their 20 shots. Defensively Drexel limited the Huskies to just eight field goals.

Nacickaite scored her 1,000th career point on a pull-up jumper on the right side of the lane at the 11:34 mark in the first half. The bucket put the Dragons ahead 14-7. She led the Dragons with 11 points in the first half and helped them build a lead as large as 10 points midway through the period.

The victory was the Dragons' sixth all-time against the Huskies in Boston. Drexel has now won 13 of 15 against Northeastern dating back to 2000.

Nacickaite is the 19th player in Drexel history to reach the 1,000-point mark. She joins Jasmina Rosseel as the second Dragon to reach the benchmark this season.

Drexel plays its final road game of the season on Sunday when the Dragons travel to Towson for a 2:00 tip.
