La Salle's Galloway diagnosed with concussion

La Salle junior guard Ramon Galloway was diagnosed with a concussion and will miss the Explorers' game at Villanova on Tuesday after being injured in their season-opening win over Lafayette Friday night.

Galloway, a Philadelphia native who transferred from South Carolina, was playing in his first game for the Explorers when he was hurt with 2 minutes, 7 seconds remaining in the first half after suffering a head and neck injury while defending against Ryan Willen.

He was immobilized in a neck brace and body straps and taken to a local hospital where he was released last night, according to La Salle spokesman Kevin Bonner

The frightening scene sapped some of the excitement from the Explorers’ impressive, 79-53 victory over Lafayette. Galloway started the game and looked good, finishing with five points before departing.
