As expected, Philadelphia was announced today as the host city for the 2012 Major League Soccer all-star game.

As expected, Philadelphia was announced today as the host city for the 2012 Major League Soccer all-star game.

The Union will host the game, 8 p.m. on July 25 at PPL Park. The game, which will be televised by ESPN, will feature a yet-to-be -determined international club against the MLS all-stars.

Entering their third year, the Union have been among the most successful MLS franchises in terms of fan interest. The all-star game is a reward for this support.
