The injury has been lingering for a few months, but has gotten worse recently.

Quarles had one point and three rebounds in 15 minutes during the Hawks' opening 72-61 win at Western Kentucky last Friday. He also played 13 mintues and had five points in the St. Joseph's 90-52 exhibition win on Monday over Scranton

Freshman Papa Ndao, who played six minutes and was scoreless in the opener, will start in Quarles place for tonight's game against Georgia Tech.
