Love bike riding and want to get to know your city better? Hidden City Philadelphia and SPOKE magazine have teamed up to offer you a series of historical bike rides to celebrate fall in the city of Brotherly Love.

Bikesploration starts this Saturday, October 17th and runs until Saturday, November 14. Whether you are interested in seeking out hidden treasures in Camden or Manayunk, or fascinated by the stories of Philly's age of industry, there is something for everyone. Each ride is $10 for Hidden City members and $15 for nonmembers.

On the collaboration between SPOKE magazine and Hidden City Philadelphia, Katie Bohri, co-founder, community outreach director of SPOKE magazine said, "We have always been fans of Hidden City and thought that a bike ride was a great way to see Philly."

"Most of the time, you take tours while on vacation in other cities. This series is a new way to see your own city and go into buildings you might pass by every day, but don't have access to," added Pete Woodall, co-editor at Hidden City Philadelphia.

Let's go exploring.

Camden: Behind the Headlines on Saturday, October 17 – A 10 mile ride around Camden led by structural engineer Patrick Miner who will point out the often hidden parts of his city like the parks and architecture.

Hidden Geology on Saturday, October 31 – A 18 mile jaunt around Philly exploring the city's 500 million years of geological history. The tour will start in Old City, head to the Schuylkill River and then to historic RittenhouseTown on Wissahickon Creek.

Mostly Manayunk on Saturday, November 7 – This 15 mile ride led by Hidden City co-editor Bradley Maule will take you over the recently reopened Manayunk Bridge and to the remnants of the old river town at Flat Rock Dam and Venice Island. And of course, there will be a stop at a pub on the itinerary as well.

Ghosts of Industry on Saturday, November 14 – This tour led by Hidden City co-editor Pete Woodall takes you into North Philadelphia to explore old factory buildings and to learn more about our city's industrial past. Did you know that Philadelphia was once known as the "Workshop of the World"? The ride will start in Old City at 2nd and Quarry Street and will make a 10 mile loop with the Bureau Brothers Foundry at 17th and Westmoreland as a midpoint.

"On this tour, you get an up close and personal look at the big factories you always drive by. We will talk about how these factories worked into the growth and development of the city," Woodall said.
