Representatives of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run have announced that it will be extending the lottery entry registration period from its original deadline of Thursday, February 13th until Saturday, February 15th at 12 noon.

"We are well aware that many of our participants have been dealing with major difficulties relating to the most recent weather issues causing numerous power outages in many regions of the country, especially in the Philadelphia area," said Blue Cross Broad Street Run race director Jim Marino. "The Blue Cross Broad Street Run wishes to express its ongoing support for those families who have been impacted by the unprecedented damage this season."

"As a courtesy to our loyal running community we are determined to give them every opportunity to take part in this annual Philadelphia tradition to be held on May 4th by extending the deadline to enter the lottery."

The Blue Cross Broad Street Run is officially America's largest 10-mile road race. The American Cancer Society is the official charity of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run.
