Live updates: 2013 U.S. Open Cup second round

Tonight I'm joining forces with longtime friend Josh Hakala, editor of TheCup.us, to help bring you live coverage of the first round of this year's U.S. Open Cup.

Live updates: 2013 U.S. Open Cup second round

For the second straight week, I'm joining forces with longtime friend Josh Hakala, editor of TheCup.us to provide live coverage of the U.S. Open Cup. It's the 100th edition of this country's oldest soccer competition, and the second round takes place tonight.

There are two games that Union fans will want to pay close attention to.

The first is between the Ocean City Nor'Easters (PDL) and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL Pro). The winner of that game will face the Union in the third round next week. If Pittsburgh wins, they'd host the tie; if Ocean City pulls off the upset, they'd come to PPL Park.

The other is the battle of the Union's minor league affiliates, Reading United (PDL) and the Harrisburg City Islanders (USL Pro).

The complete second round schedule is here. You can read up on the teams playing tonight with game-by-game previews from TheCup.us here. Results and match reports will be posted here

So come on in our live chat. There will be games throughout the night and from coast to coast. There's also a Twitter hashtag for the event: #usoc100.

A few games tonight will have live video coverage. Links to those feeds are below:

Portland Timbers U-23s vs. Charleston Battery
Georgia Revolution vs. Atlanta Silverbacks
Richmond Kickers at Icon FC
Dayton Dutch Lions at Dearborn Stars SC
FC Tucson at San Antonio Scorpions

Note that all times on the scoreboards in the updates console are Eastern, not local.
