Jrue Holiday's birthday present: a USA Basketball camp invitation

Talk about a solid birthday present.

On the day of his 23d birthday, it was announced Wednesday that Jrue Holiday will be one of 27 invited players competing at the USA Basketball men's national team's mini-camp. The camp will run July 22-25 at UNLV's Mendenhall Arena in Las Vegas.

Dion Waiters, a South Philadelphia native who plays guard for Cleveland, is another one of the invited players.

The 76ers point guard will be in familiar surroundings, having been a member of last summer's USA Select team that prepared the U.S. Olympic team for its gold medal run.  The NBA all-star also was a member of the US junior national team as a high school senior in 2008.

Holiday had career-highs in points (17.7), assists (eight) and rebounds (4.2) for the Sixers last season to become the youngest player in the organization's history to make the all-star team
