Sixers sign Shawn Long to multi-year deal

The 76ers signed Shawn Long to a partially guaranteed, multiyear deal on Thursday morning, confirming a Philly.com report.

The contract is guaranteed for the remainder of the season. Long will have two seasons remaining in his deal.

The final day of the rookie's 10-day contract with the Sixers was Wednesday. Long averaged 4.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 7.8 minutes in four games.

The 6-foot-9, 255-pounder finished with 13 points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes in his debut against the Milwaukee Bucks on March 6. Then he played only one second against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday before not seeing any action against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

Long scored six points on 2-for-3 shooting and grabbed five rebounds in 12 minutes Sunday against the Lakers. He didn't score a point and attempted one field goal in four minutes against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
