Smith sidelined against Nets

The 76ers will be without Ish Smith in Saturday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets at Wells Fargo Center.

The point guard suffered a sprained left ankle late in Friday's setback at the Washington Wizards.  Rookie T.J. McConnell will start in his place.

"We fully expect him to be available on Monday," coach Brett Brown said before Saturday's game. "It's as much precautionary as it is anything."

Reserve rookie power forward Richaun Holmes (sprained right ankle) will miss his second straight game.

Smith scored a team-high 22 points against the Wizards.  The Sixers reacquired him in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans on Dec. 24. In his 19 games with the Sixers, he averaged 15.8 points and 7.9 assists.
