Sixers send Sampson down to D-league

The 76ers assigned rookie swingman JaKarr Sampson to the Delaware 87ers, their NBA Development team on Friday.

"He hadn't played in a while, and the log jam [at small forward] obviously is a result of that," Sixers coach Brett Brown said. "And we wanted to get him games.

"I think that's one of the great things about having our own NBDL program. We can go back and forth and use him in that respect."

The undrafted rookie out of St. John's appeared in nine games with the Sixers, making two starts. He was averaging 2.0 points and 1.7 rebounds and 11.2 minutes.
