Sixers quickly forgot last game vs. Hawks

Brett Brown was asked if there's something the 76ers look to repeat from their 126-98 setback to the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 7 at Wells Fargo Center.

"We're going to look to not repeat a single thing," the Sixers coach quickly responded. "That's one of those games that you quickly forget.

"We've had a small dose of those types of games and that's one of them. We feel we're in a different place right now."

The Sixers (7-41) will try to remain in that place when theyentertain the Hawks (28-22) Wednesdaynight at Wells Fargo Center.

On paper, it will be tough task for the home team. They are eight-point underdogs.  Despite their improved play as of late, one might assume the Sixers would have to play a great game to stay in the eight-point range.

Atlanta has superior talent. They are just as athletics as the Sixers.  They also routinely pass up good shots for great shots. Those three combined as enabled the Hawks to defeat the Sixers by an average of 24.5 points in this season's first two meetings.

Atlanta led wire-to-wire in a 127-106 victory on Dec. 16 at Philips Arena.  The Hawks had 32 assists and shot 61.5 percent.

On Jan.7, they broke the game open with a 12-0 run and had a commanding 21-point fourth-quarter lead in the second half. This time, the Hawks recorded a season-high 18 steals, 36 assists and shot 53.3 percent.
