Injuries have set back Sixers in every area, Brown says

A reporter asked 76ers coach Brett Brown if there's an area the team is on schedule with entering Wednesday's season opener against Oklahoma City, despite the injuries. He paused seven seconds before answering.

"Oh, yeah," Brown finally said after Sunday's practice. "I think we are scratching the surface all over the place. I wish I could give you a better answer. It wouldn't be truthful."

He said the template and foundation are sort of there. Brown added the answer would be no to "feeling really pretty and polished up in any of the areas right now."

The Sixers are trying to bide their time until point forward Ben Simmons (Jones fracture, right foot), point guard Jerryd Bayless (ligament damage, left wrist), reserve center Nerlens Noel (inflamed plica) return. Meanwhile, center Joel Embiid (foot), shooting guard Gerald Henderson (hip) and reserve center Jahlil Okafor (knee) are on a minutes restriction.
