Sixers' Okafor a first-team all-NBA Rookie choice

Sixers center Jahlil Okafor has been named to the 2015-16 NBA all-rookie first team.

Okafor is the 12th player in franchise history to earn all-rookie first-team honors and joins teammate Nerlens Noel, who was named to the first team last season.

In 53 games with 48 starts this season, Okafor averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one block per game. He was the first Sixers rookie ever to attain such averages.

Joining Oakfor on the first team were Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns and New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis, both of whom were unanimous selections; the Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker; and the Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic.

Miami's Justise Winslow, the Lakers' D'Angelo Russell, Denver's Emmanuel Mudiay, Indiana's Myles Turner and Sacramento's Willie Cauley-Stein were on the all-rookie second team.
