Sixers' Joel Embiid out vs Spurs, won't travel to Orlando

76ers center Joel Embiid remains sidelined with a bone bruise in his left knee and will not participate in Wednesday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs at the Wells Fargo Center.

Also, the rookie will not travel with the team to Orlando to face the Magic on Thursday.

Embiid will have missed eight straight games and 11 of 12 since suffering the injury against the Portland Trail Blazers on Jan. 20.

He participated in a light workout on Tuesday before working out again on Wednesday.

Embiid wore red goggles in shooting drills following Wednesday's shootaround. He was not made available to the media. The team spokeman said their was no particular season why Embiid wore goggles, other than the player wanting to wear them.

Embiid wore goggles a few games during his lone season at Kansas back during the 2013-14 season.
