Is Simmons the Sixers' point guard of future?

The 76ers see Ben Simmons a power forward – for now.

They want him to get rebounds, lead the fast break and initiate the offense in certain situations when the opportunities permit. The Sixers see the 6-foot-10, 243-pounder as a locomotive that can pass and handle the ball.

"It wouldn't surprise me, if you fast forwarded all this a few years where we may sort of declare him a point guard,"  Sixers coach Brett Brown said on NBA.com's Hang Time Podcast. "Sometimes in my aggressive wishes, dreams, I say why don't you just give him the ball?

"But I see him being played at [a point forward] capacity more initially."

The Sixers selected the 19-year-old with the first overall pick in last week's NBA draft.
