Daniel Orton is the newest 76er.
The Sixers signed the 6-foot-10, 255-pound center to a contract on Tuesday. The franchise released center Tim Ohlbrecht to make room on the 20-man preseason roster.
Orton was released by the Oklahoma City Thunder last week after playing one season with the Western Conference power. The Oklahoma native was the 29th overall pick by the Orlando Magic in 2010 following his freshman season at Kentucky.
The Magic sent him to New Mexico Thunderbirds of the NBA Development League during his rookie season. Orton suffered a season-ending knee injury in his second game for the Thunderbirds.
