Report: 76ers' Joel Embiid cleared to play in scrimmages

It might still be a while yet before we finally see the seven-foot Cameroon native in a game, but it looks like the healing process might be in its final stages.

As if Ben Simmons' arrival in town wasn't enough 76ers news for the day, now there's this from Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski:

After a full year of rehabilitation, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has been cleared to start light scrimmaging in five-on-five settings, league sources told The Vertical.

Embiid, 22, is expected to travel to Las Vegas for the 76ers' entry in the summer league in July but only to practice with the team, sources said. There's no plan for him to participate in summer league games.
