Sixers trade Shawn Long to Rockets for 2nd-round pick, cash

The reserve power forward and center played in only 18 games this past season.

The 76ers traded reserve center/power forward Shawn Long to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday for a 2018 second-round pick and cash considerations.

The move comes three months after Long signed a multi-year deal with the Sixers upon completing a 10-day contract. The 6-foot-9, 255-pounder appeared in 18 games this past season, averaging 8.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 13 minutes.

The Sixers originally signed the former Louisiana-Lafayette player to an undrafted rookie free-agent deal last July 8. Long then was waived at the end of the preseason and signed with the Delaware 87ers, the Sixers' G-League affiliate, before being signed to a 10-day contract on March 6.
