Noel will play against Rockets

ORLANDO - Nerlens Noel will play in Tuesday's 7 p.m. Orlando Pro Summer League contest against the Houston Rockets.

The 76ers 6-foot-11 center sat out Sunday's 84-73 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder for precautionary reasons. The Sixers just don't want to overwork Noel, who on Saturday played in his first game in 17 months following a knee injury in his lone season at Kentucky.

"I'm just glad that I got back on the court," Noel said. "Now, I know there are not many limitations. It's a long future, and just being steady now with this summer league and not overdoing anything."

The 20-year-old rookie is focused on improving his shot and adding seven pounds of muscle to his 223-pound frame by the season.

Noel had game highs of 19 points and four steals to go with three assists and a blocked shot in an 83-77 setback to the Magic on Saturday.
