The 76ers are about to work out former Long Beach State swingman James Ennis, according to the player’s Twitter time line.
The 6-foot-7, 200-pounder tweeted Sunday afternoon that he was “posted in the airport on my way to Philadelphia.” He responded “yes sir” when asked if it was for a predraft workout with the Sixers. The Big West Conference player of the year did not say when the workout would be.
The Sixers have a first-round pick (11th overall) and two second-round selections (35th) and (42d) in the June 27 NBA draft. Ennis is projected by some draft analysts as a late first-round prospect after his stellar showing in April's Portsmouth Invitational.
The California native averaged 16.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks this past season.
