Five things you need to know about the Sixers today

Five things you need to know about the 76ers today:

1.  Robert Covington is climbing up the NBA steals rankings. The small forward is fourth in the league at 1.88 per game.

2. The Sixers have a winning record with the starting lineups that featured Nerlens Noel.  The team is 3-2 in the five games the center has started.

3. The Sixers received accolades for snapping the Miami Heat's 13-game losing streak on Saturday.  But do you know the last time they had snapped an opponent's winning streaking of 13 games or more? It was on Jan. 4, 2003 when they halted the San Antonio Spurs' 13-game streak.

4.  The Sixers' season-best 15 steals were among the highlights from Saturday's victory. Noel and Covington had four steals apiece.

5.   Monday is the anniversary of "Dr. J" Julius Erving's first NBA All-Star game.  The NBA legend had a 30-point, 12-rebound effort and was named MVP despite his Eastern Conference squad's loss, 125-124, on Feb. 13, 1977.
