Dr. J: Sixers on 7-year timeline to be good, formidable

LAS VEGAS – Julius Erving, speaking on Sirius XM NBA Radio Wednesday, said the 76ers timeline to field a formidable team is seven years.

"Well when they acquired the team in 2012, maybe, I think the talk was about seven years. Seven years," the Sixers great told the radio show hosts. "So I think it's still on that same timeline."

Erving was asked if the seven-year timeline was to make the playoff.

"No. To be good," he responded. " To be good. To be formidable. To be a contender. That's probably the 2018-19 [season],  right?"
