Covington, Holmes to face Nuggets

DENVER – The 76ers had used Wednesday night's matchup against the Denver Nuggets as the target return date for Robert Covington and Richaun Holmes, barring setbacks.

There were no setbacks.

The forwards will be available for the first time in seven games after suffering game-ending injuries in a victory over the Brooklyn Nets on March 11.

Covington left the game on a stretcher after suffering a concussion. Holmes strained his right Achilles.

The Chicago-area natives have been missed, with the Sixers losing all six of their games during their absence.

"We look forward to having some bodies back," coach Brett Brown said. 'We played those [last] five games in seven days"

Covington is usually the starting small forward. However, the Sixers will bring him off the bench Wednesday. The 6-foot-9, 210-pounder averages 11.9 points and 1.55 steals.  Holmes, a  reserve rookie power forward, will be on a 15- to 18-minute restriction.  He averages 5.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 13.9 minutes.
