Best and Worst awards: Suns vs. Sixers
My look at some of the best and worst performances from the 76ers' 113-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns Tuesday at Wells Fargo Center:
Best performance: This was a tough one. Make that an extremely tough one. But I had to give this to Nerlens Noel even though teammates Ish Smith (20 points) and Robert Covington (19) scored more points. The 76ers' 6-foot-11, 223-pounder finished with 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting while starting at center in place of Jahlil Okafor (flu). Noel, who usually starts at power forward, also had nine rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots.
Worst performance: This has to go Phoenix's P.J. Tucker. The small forward missed seven of his eight field-goal attempts en route to finishing with seven points. He did have eight assists. But he also had three turnovers and graded out at minus-11.
Best defensive performance: Noel also wins this one. In addition to his blocks and steals, seven of his rebounds came on the defensive end.
Best performance in a losing effort: Alex Len wins this award after producing 16 points, a game-high 12 rebounds and two blocks. The 7-foot-1 power forward shot 6-for-12 from the field and made 4 of 4 foul shots.
Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Sixers' foul shooting, once again. They made just 24 of 36 shots (66.7 percent) from the foul line.
Best statistic: This award goes to the Sixers' points off turnovers. They scored 28 points off the Suns' 17 turnovers.
