"Best" and "Worst" awards: 76ers vs. Kings

76ers on Tuesday at Sleep Train Arena:

Best performance:  I had to give this to DeMarcus Cousins even though he only made 8 of 27 shots. The Kings center scored game highs of 33 points, 17 rebounds and four steals to go with four blocked shots. This was his 42d  double-double of the season.

Worst performance:  Ray McCallum got the honor. The Kings point guard scored 11 points on 5-for-17 shooting. He missed five of his six three-pointers. .

Best defensive performance:  This award goes to Cousins. He finished with a game-high four steals to go with four blocks while constantly providing a defensive presence. The Kings' 6-foot-11 center seals the game by the stealing the ball away from Hollis Thompson in the closing second.

Best performance by a Sixer: Robert Covington had to get this one. The small forward showed why he Sixers are high on him, finishing with a team-high 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting – including going 5-for-6 on three-pointers. Covington  scored 12 consecutive points during one stretch of the fourth quarter.

Worst statistic:  This goes to the Sixers' turnovers. They turned the ball over 21 times – 17 in the second half.

 Best statistic: This goes to the Kings' offensive rebounding. They grabbed 30 offensive rebounds. The Sixers only had seven.

Worst of the Worst: This had to the Sixers' third-quarter performance. They had better shooting than the Kings in the quarter. However, they only produced 14 points in the quarter after scoring 70 point at intermission.
