"Best" and "Worst" awards: Sixers vs. Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS – My look at some of the best and worst performances and happenings from the Indiana Pacers' 94-74 victory over the 76ers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Sunday:

Best performance:  Roy Hibbert gets this on an evening when Pacers point guard George Hill finished with a game-high 17 points. While Hill was impressive, Hibbert spearheaded Indiana's victory. The center posted a double-double, finishing with 14 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.  He also blocked five shots and had two steals.

Worst performance:  There's no way that you can avoid handing this award to Isaiah Canaan. The Sixers point guard has had big shoes to fill since replacing Michael Carter-Williams after the trade deadline.  On this night Canaan missed 1 of 8 shots en route to finishing with five points. Thing were so bad that Ish Smith – not Canaan – started the second half and played most of the minutes in the third quarter.

Best performance in a losing effort:  It's a no-brainer to give this to Nerlens Noel, who battled through a sore left quad and a sore right calf.  The 6-11, 217-pounder finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. As you can see, he and Hibbert had a major one-on-one battle going on. This was Noel's second consecutive double-double and ninth of the season.

Best defensive performance:  With five blocked shots, Hibbert  is the logical person to win this award. Ten of his  15 rebounds came on the defensive end.

Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Pacers' three-point shooting.  They made just 16.7 percent (3 of 18) of their three-point attempts.

Best statistic: This award goes to the Indiana blocked shots. The Pacers blocked eight of the Sixers shots.

Worst of the Worst:   This goes to Sixers' assist-to-turnover ratio. They had 10 assists and 16 turnovers.
