'Best' & 'Worst' awards: Sixers vs. Pistons

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – My look at some of the best and worst performances and happenings from the Detroit Pistons' 113-96 victory over the 76ers on Saturday at the Palace of Auburn Hills:

Best performance:  You have to give this to Andre Drummond. Sure power forward Greg Monroe produced 21 points, 12 rebounds and three assists to lead the Pistons to victory. But Drummond dominated the Sixers on both ends of the court. The center made 10 of 11 shots and finished with game highs of 22 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots. He has had his way with the Sixers in all three of this season's meetings. Expect him to do the same when the teams meet on March 29 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Worst performance: It seems unfair to give this to Spencer Hawes, considering he had a team-high eight rebounds to go with a blocked shot. But being held to four points on 2-for-8 shooting was hard to overlook. He missed on all three of three-point attempts and looked out of sync offensively.

Best defensive performance: Drummond gets this award with his five blocked shots. The 6-foot-11 second-year player altered several other shots, grabbed eight defensive boards and had a steal.

Best performance in a losing effort: Thad Young wins this award after producing 14 points on 7-for-14 and a game-high five steals. The power forward's was a bright spot in what was a horrible evening for the Sixers.

Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Pistons' foul shooting. Detroit made just 24 of 40 free throws.

Best statistic: This award goes Detroit in the second-chance points department.  The Pistons had an overwhelming 32-12 advantage in second-chance points.

Worst of the Worst:  This award goes to the Sixers not having an answer for the Pistons post players.  Drummond and Monroe did whatever they wanted to do. After a while, their dominance opened up things for their teammates. On this night, the Sixers were helpless against the towering tandem.
