'Best' & 'Worst' awards: Sixers vs. Celtics

BOSTON – My look at some of the best and worst performances and happenings from the 76ers' 95-94 victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday at TD Garden:

Best performance: I have to give this to Evan Turner despite his shooting just 4-for-14 through three quarters and missing all five of his three-pointers in the game. The swingman received this award for leading the Sixers to victory.  He shook Jerryd Bayless and made a seven-foot floating jump shot as time expired to give them the one-point victory. Turner scored the game's final three points and made 2 of 3 shots in the fourth quarter. He finished with 16 points, a game-high eight assists, six rebounds and two steals.

Worst performance:  This has to go to Phil Pressey. The Boston rookie point guard missed six of his seven field-goal attempts en route to finishing with two points. He also had more turnovers (five) than assists (two) and steals (two) combined in 21 minutes of action. Let's just say this is a game Pressey wants to soon forget.

Best performance in a losing effort: Jared Sullinger gets this award after producing game highs of 24 points and 17 rebounds. The post player made all six of his free-throw attempts and had two assists.  However, Sullinger's game was far from perfect.  He had three turnovers.

Best defensive performance:  Brandon Bass wins this. The Celtics power forward blocked two shots and finished with a steal.  He also had five rebounds – three defensive – to go with 11 points in 20 minutes.

Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Sixers' foul shooting.  They made just 14 of 25 free throws for 56 percent.

Best statistic: This award goes to the Sixers' 56 points in the paint.

Worst of the Worst:  This award goes to the game as a whole.  This game was hard to watch, as the squads combined to miss 18 foul shots and commit 27 turnovers.
