"Best" & "Worst" awards: 76ers vs. Lakers

LOS ANGELES – My look at some of the best and worst performances from the Los Angeles Lakers' 101-87 victory over the 76ers Sunday night at Staples Center:

Best performance:  This goes to Jeremy Lin for leading the Lakers to victory.  The reserve point guard finished with a game-high 29 points to go with five assists and five rebounds.  He took over the fourth quarter, scoring 12 of the Lakers' 27 points.

Worst performance:  Isaiah Canaan wins this award.  The Sixers backup point guard had a rough shooting night. He missed 11 of his 12 shots en route to finishing with three points. He went 1-for-6 on three-pointers. Canaan also had more personal fouls (five) than assists (two) and rebound (one) combined.

 Best defensive performance: This award goes to Ed Davis. The Lakers reserve forward had a game-high four blocked shots. Davis also finished with eight points and a game-high 11 rebounds – eight on the defensive end.

Best performance in a losing effort: Thomas Robinson wins this award. The Sixers reserve power forward finished with team highs of 14 points and eight rebounds in just 16 minutes, 2 seconds of action. He made 7 of 8 shots.

Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Sixers' fourth-quarter shooting. They made just 4 of 22 shots (18.7 percent) in the final 12 minutes.

Best statistic: This award goes to the Lakers' rebounding advantage. They outrebounded the Sixers, 52-39.

Worst of the worst: The Sixers' offense was missing in action. They made just 36 percent of their shots on the night. It was the lowest by a Lakers opponent since the Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 20, 2013.
