'Best' & 'Worst' awards: 76ers vs. Bobcats

CHARLOTTE – My look at some of the best and worst performances from the Charlotte Bobcats' 111-105 victory over the 76ers Saturday night at Time Warner Cable Arena:

Best performance:  This goes to Al Jefferson for being in Beast-mode against the Sixers. The Bobcats center finished with game highs of 29 points and 12 rebounds to go with two blocked shots. Dominant from the opening tip, Jefferson made his first six shots and finished 13 of 19 from the field. Twenty-one of his points came in the first half.

Worst performance: This goes to Brandon Davis, who fought hard but was totally overmatched.  The Sixers rookie reserve forward missed all four of his shot attempts en route to being held scoreless.  He did, however, have three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a turnover before fouling out with 9 minutes, 25 seconds remaining.  He left everything on the floor, but his offensive shortcomings were hard to overlook.

Best defensive performance:  Jefferson also gets this one.  In addition to blocking two shots, the 6-foot-10, 289-pounder dominated the defensive glass. Ten of his 12 rebounds came on defense.

Best performance by a Sixer: Michael Carter-Williams wins this award. The Sixers rookie point guard finished with 23 points on 7-for-12 shooting. He also eight assists, seven rebounds and a steal. The only negatives were his three turnovers. But, hey, his offensive success more than made up for those miscues.

Worst statistic: This award goes to the Sixers three-point shooting. They made 5 of 25 three-pointers for 20.0 percent.

Best statistic: This goes to the Bobcats' 23 assists. Charlotte displayed solid teamwork. Luke Ridnour, played point guard in place of Kemba Walker, had a team-high eight assists.  Eight of the 10 Bobcats that played had at least one assist.
