76ers-Raptors Best Worst: Embiid, Carroll and dealing with 22 turnovers

Here is my look at some of the best and worst performances from the 76ers' 94-89 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday at Wells Fargo Center:

Best performance: This was a tough one, just because DeMar DeRozan had a stellar effort in the fourth quarter.  The only problem is he didn't lead his team to victory.  Joel Embiid did and that's why he wins this award.  The Sixers center finished with a game-high 26 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocked shots. His lone negative was his four turnovers. However, Embiid graded out at a plus-20. Twelve of his points came in the fourth quarter. After blocking Kyle Lowry's shot with 22.9 seconds left, he scored the Sixers final four points from the foul line.

Worst performance: This goes to DeMarre Carroll. The Raptors small forward struggled mightily before leaving with a game-ending neck injury in the third quarter. He missed all six of his shots – including going 0-for-4 on three-pointers en route to being held scoreless.

Worst defensive performance: This goes to whoever was guarding DeRozan in the fourth quarter. The Raptors shooting guard made 7 of 10 shots while scoring 14 points in the final quarter. He made everything look easy.

Best defensive performance: Dario Saric gets this award. The Sixers reserve power forward had two blocks – both in the fourth quarter.  One was an impressive denial of Jared Sullinger's dunk attempt.

Best performance in a losing effort: DeRozan gets this award after finishing with team highs of 25 points and six assists. He was hard to guard in the fourth quarter.

Worst statistics: Raptors second-quarter three-point shooting. They made 1 of 7 for 14.3 percent in the second quarter.

Best statistics: Embiid grading at plus-20. Teammate Nik Stauskas had the game's second-best grade at a distant plus-10.

Worst of worst: The Sixers committing 22 turnovers. The Raptors scored 20 points off the Sixers' turnovers.
