76ers-Jazz best worst: Favors, Covington and 43 consecutive losses

My look at some of the best and worst performances from the Utah Jazz 109-84 victory over the 76ers on Monday at Wells Fargo Center.

Best performance: This was a tough one. Make that an extremely tough one. But I gave it to Derrick Favors even though his teammate, Gordon Hayward, finished with a game-high 20 points. Favors, however, finished with the game's lone double-double and had a solid defensive presence. The Jazz power forward finished with 16 points to go with season highs in rebounds (14) and blocked shots (three). He also had one steal.

Worst performance: This has to go the Sixers' reserve power forward Ersan Ilyasova. He shot  2-for-12 from the field. He did finish with 10 points thanks in part to making all five of his foul shots. The ninth-year veteran was a nonfactor.

Best defensive performance: Even though he fouled out, this award goes to Rudy Gobert. The Jazz center finished three blocks and a steal. Two of his blocks came against Sixers center Joel Embiid. Gobert also altered several shots.

Best performance by Sixer: Robert Covington wins this award after producing 12  points and a team-high eight rebounds. The swingman snapped out of his shooting slump by making 4 of 5 shoots – including going 3-for-4 on three-pointers.

Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Sixers' turnovers. They committed a season-high 18. Utah scored 17 points off them.

Best statistic: This award goes to Utah's three-point shooting. The Jazz shot 11-for-19 (57.9 percent).

Worst of the Worst: This goes to the Sixers losing their 43rd consecutive games in October and November. This was supposed to be the season where we witnessed improvement. But due to injuries, this team is no different than the previous three squads.
