Five things you need to know about the 76ers today

Five things you need to know about the 76ers today:

1.  Starting Ersan Ilyasova gives the Sixers the best chance to win.  Six of their eight victories came with him in the starting lineup.

2.  Ilyasova has been much more than a welcomed three-point shooter for the Sixers. He leads the team with seven double-doubles.

3. Nerlens Noel has been solid while receiving more minutes in the past two games. The Sixers reserve center shot a combined 10-for-17 from the field en route to averaging 11.5 points. He also averaged four rebounds.

4.  Joel Embiid is coming off his best three-game scoring stretch of the season. He had 23 points on Friday against the Denver Nuggets and 25 and 27 points in his previous two games.

5.  T.J. McConnell has played well during his two games as a starter. The point guard finished with 17 points and eight assists on Friday. He had 12 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in his other start against the Detroit Pistons on Dec. 11.
