Whom did the Phillies acquire for Cole Hamels?

The Phillies cashed in on their biggest bargaining chip on Wednesday night with the agreement to trade ace pitcher Cole Hamels to the Texas Rangers. The deal, according to multiple reports, will bring back to Philadelphia six players, including five minor leaguers, three of which Baseball America regards as among the Rangers' top five prospects.

Here is a look at who the Phillies received:

RHP Jake Thompson (Age: 21, Level: Double A)

Baseball America recently ranked Thompson as the Rangers top pitching prospect and the 49th-best prospect in baseball. The 21-year-old mixes a fastball, slider, curveball and changeup. Thompson has a 4.72 ERA this season in 17 starts at double A. Texas acquired Thompson, a second-round pick in 2012, from the Detroit Tigers in last July's trade of closer Joakim Soria. Charley Kerfeld, special assistant to Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr., watched Thompson's start on Monday night in Frisco, Texas, according to FOX Sports.

C Jorge Alfaro (Age: 22, Level: Double A)

Alfaro, considered one of the best catching prospects in baseball, has been sidelined with an ankle injury since June 10. The injury could force him to miss the rest of the season. The 22-year-old is ranked by Baseball America as the Rangers No. 5 prospect. He is raw behind the plate but boasting a big bat. He hit .253 in 49 games this season at double before the injury this year and .261 last season with 123 strikeouts in 121 games between high A and double A. He represented the Rangers in the 2014 Futures Game in Minnesota.

Alfaro, according to a rival evaluator, is a "really athletic catcher who has a double plus arm." In the scout's opinion, Alfaro "is going to hit and hit with power." Some question his receiving and ability behind the plate but the scout noted Alfaro is athletic enough to play right field if necessary.

OF Nick Williams (Age: 21, Level: Double A)

Baseball America recently ranked the left-handed hitting Williams the Rangers' fourth-best prospect. The 21-year-old is in his first full season in double A. The Rangers drafted him in 2012's second round. He hit .300 in 96 games this season with 13 homers and 45 RBIs. He has split his time this season between left and center field. Williams played in last month's Futures Game in Cincinnati.

RHP Alec Asher (Age: 23, Level: Triple A)

Asher was promoted to triple A in May. The Rangers' fourth-round pick in 2010 has a 4.73 ERA in 12 starts this season. He has struck out 54 batters and walked 19 in 64 2/3 innings.

RHP Jerad Eickhoff (Age: 25, Level: Triple A)

Eickhoff started the season in double A before being promoted after two starts. He posted a 4.47 ERA in 17 starts at triple A. He was pulled from Wednesday's start after five innings as the deal was being completed. Eickhoff struck out 90 batters and walked 33 in 96.2 innings at triple A. The Rangers drafted him in 2011's 15th round.

LHP Matt Harrison (Age: 29, Level: Major leagues)

Harrison has started just nine times since his 2012 all-star season. He underwent two back surgeries in 2013 and had spinal fusion on two disks in his lower back last June. Harrison returned the mound earlier this month and has made three starts, most recently on Monday, when he allowed six earned runs over six innings against the New York Yankees. He has a 6.75 ERA over 16 innings.
