The teams Cole Hamels would accept a trade to, as reported by FoxSports.com

According to FoxSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi, the following nine teams are the ones that are not blocked by Cole Hamels' partial no-trade clause. It's an interesting list because it is dominated by big market teams, several of whom could be looking for a frontline starting pitcher this month:

Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Cardinals, Nationals, Braves, Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers.

Earlier today we floated the possibility of Hamels heading to St. Louis or the Dodgers, both of whom have the minor league talent to offer a bluechip pitching prospect and a bluechip position prospect who could help the Phillies in the next couple of years. For a deal to happen with the Dodgers, a package would almost certainly have to include outfield prospect Joc Pederson, although the Dodgers also have shortstop Corey Seager. I don't see how it makes much sense for the Dodgers to part with either of those players, given the strength of L.A.'s current top three starters and the clear need they have for some low-cost talent to keep their current astronomical payroll for rising any further.

One scenario that could make some sense in the offseason is Matt Kemp, given his issues this season, but I can't see the Dodgers trading him away midseason. I'm not saying that it would be the wisest play from the Phillies' perspective, but it would be intriguing if combined with a couple pitching prospects. Kemp will be just 30 years old next season.

As for the Cardinals, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis dispatch reported something today on Twitter that is interesting. Cards GM John Mozeliak, "said club has found it would take one of their starters to get a top starter. Net loss in control yrs."

While that would be the case for David Price or Jon Lester, it wouldn't necessarily be the case for Hamels, who is signed for four more years after this one.
