Spring countdown: Get to know Phillies outfielders

Next week, there is baseball. Well, baseball players taking batting practice and playing catch. Pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater on Feb. 17. This week we will preview all 65 players in camp, starting with 40-man roster players.

Today, the outfielders:

OF Aaron Altherr
If his strikeouts come with power, as they did in a small sample last season, the Phillies will take it.

UTIL Cody Asche
His 2015 production mirrored that of 2014. And 2013. Now he's a bench player.

OF Peter Bourjos
The 28-year-old defensive maven has one more chance before free agency to prove he can be an everyday player.

OF Tyler Goeddel
He'll make the team; the Phillies have nothing to lose by carrying the unpolished but toolsy Rule 5 pick.

OF Odubel Herrera
Pete Mackanin sees Herrera as a perennial .300 hitter. A lofty label attached to a former Rule 5 pick.

OF Roman Quinn
He had eight triples and 37 stolen bases in 83 games, including winter ball. That's exciting.
