Will Charlie Manuel, Roy Halladay return to the Phillies?

The Phillies fired former manager Charlie Manuel back in August. Former ace Roy Halladay retired last month. It seems, however, the club would like both back in the organization.

Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com writes that Manuel has yet to accept or reject a "longstanding job offer" from the Phillies.

"We're hopeful of having a resolution in the next week or so," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. told Salisbury.

The club would like to have Manuel back as a consultant, working with minor-league hitters.

Amaro also expressed interest in bringing Halladay back, possibly as an instructor during spring training.

"I don't know what's going to happen yet," Amaro told Salisbury. "I think [Halladay] may have some interest. We have interest."
