Roll Call of Phillie-Killers

Brian McCann was poised to join this list, but went 1-for-8 this week against the Phillies.

The Braves took two of three games from the Phillies despite a 1-for-8 performance from catcher Brian McCann, who came into the series hitting .571 against the Phils this season.

That is the same exact average that Tony Gywnn unfurled against them in 1994, the highest they've surrendered in one season (since 1916).

Below are players (min.: 25 AB) that have hit .517 or higher against the Phillies in a season. There is only one player that appears on the list twice. That would be the Brewers' Ryan Braun ... so take that with a grain of salt ... or a syringe of whatever you have sitting in the medicine cabinet.

Also, on the list: the legendary Possum Whitted. He hit .538 against the Phillies in 1919 ... after they traded to the Pirates on Aug. 9 of that season. And for whom was he traded? The even more legendary Casey Stengel.
