Phillies hopeful Mario Hollands will contribute in 2016

BOCA RATON, Fla. --- The Phillies are hopeful lefthanded reliever Mario Hollands will contribute to the team next season, general manager Matt Klentak said on Tuesday, the first full day of the GM meetings.

"He's rehabbing and he's doing pretty well," Klentak said.

Hollands, 27, is working his way back from Tommy John surgery that he underwent on April 8. He resumed playing catch in September at the team's facility in Clearwater, Fla. Recovery from Tommy John typically takes between 12 and 18 months.

Hollands experienced a solid rookie season in 2014 but did not appear in a regular-season game before the surgery last season.
